Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the Dr Ryu Natural Medicine website (drryu.co.uk) and the services we provide. By using this website or booking an appointment with us, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Cookie Policy.
Who we are

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Dr Ryu Natural Medicine, and “you” refers to the person using the website or our services.
Where you have signed our Legal Consent & Disclaimer form, that signed form and these Terms are read together; where the two address the same subject, the signed form prevails.
Using this website
The content on this website is provided for general information about our practice and approach. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a consultation. Please see our Disclaimer for the full position.
You agree to use this website lawfully and not to misuse it — for example by introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or disrupting its operation.
Intellectual property
All content on this website — text, articles, downloadable resources, images, diagrams and branding — is owned by Dr Ryu Natural Medicine or used under licence, and is protected by copyright. You may view and download material for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish or distribute it without our written permission.
Booking and appointments
You can book through our online booking system, by phone, or by asking for an appointment through our enquiry form. A booking is confirmed once we have acknowledged it.
For most new patients, care begins with an Initial Consultation. Certain services (for example pain and structural treatment, or transfer-day acupuncture support) may follow a different intake — the arrangements for each are set out on our Fees and service pages.
Cancellations and rescheduling
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, so that we can offer the time to another patient.
- Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at 50% of the booked appointment fee.
- Non-attendance without notice (“no-shows”) is charged at 100% of the booked appointment fee.
Where a cancellation arises from a genuine emergency or exceptional circumstance, please tell us. These charges may be reduced or waived at our discretion, considered case by case.
Late arrival
If you arrive late, we will treat you for whatever remains of your booked time so that patients booked after you are not delayed. The full fee for the booked appointment remains payable.
Online appointments
Some appointments can be held by video. When they are, these terms apply in addition to the rest of this page.
- Where you join from. Please join from a private place where you can speak freely, and tell us at the start of the call where you are. Depending on the country you are in at the time, we may be unable to hold an online appointment, or part of one.
- Identity. We confirm who you are at the start of the call.
- Recording. We do not record online appointments. Please do not record them yourself without our agreement.
- If the connection fails. We continue by telephone. If the appointment cannot be completed, we rebook it at no charge.
- Everything else is the same. Booking, cancellation, late arrival and payment terms are those for an appointment at the clinic: if you join late, the appointment ends at its booked time.
Your responsibilities as a patient
Safe treatment depends on the information you give us. You agree to provide, to the best of your knowledge, full and accurate information about your health, conditions, medications and supplements, and to tell us promptly of any change during your care — including pregnancy or suspected pregnancy. We are entitled to rely on the information you give us.
Declining or ending treatment
We may decline to begin, or may end, a course of treatment where in our professional judgement treatment is not clinically appropriate, where it falls outside our scope of practice, where necessary information has been withheld, or where the conduct of an appointment makes safe treatment impracticable. If this happens we will explain why and, where appropriate, suggest where else to seek help. Any fee for treatment not provided is refunded.
Concerns and complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care, please raise it with us directly in the first instance, at info@drryu.co.uk. Most concerns are resolved quickly and directly. We aim to acknowledge your concern within 5 working days and to respond fully within 20 working days; if we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect a full response.
If you would rather raise your concern elsewhere, or you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM), of which your practitioner is a registered member. ATCM considers concerns about the conduct or practice of individual members through its Professional Complaints Procedure, published at atcm.co.uk/about-us/complaints.
ATCM, Unit 15 Siddeley House, 50 Canbury Park Road, Kingston KT2 6LX · info@atcm.co.uk · Monday to Friday, 9.00–17.00
Concerns about how we have handled your personal data may be raised with the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Fees and payment
Our fees are published on the Fees page and are inclusive of VAT. We accept all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and process card payments securely through our payment provider. Bank transfer and international payment options are available — details are provided on your invoice.
Payment for consultations and treatments is due at the time of the appointment, unless otherwise agreed or stated on your invoice. Laboratory tests ordered on your behalf are payable before the test is registered or dispatched.
Digital products and downloads
Where we sell digital products (such as ebooks or guides), they are supplied for your own personal use under a single-user, non-transferable licence. You may not resell or redistribute them.
Because digital products are delivered electronically, your statutory right to cancel may be lost once the download has begun, where you have agreed to this at checkout. This does not affect your rights where a product is faulty or not as described. Our digital products are sold through our third-party store, whose own checkout terms also apply.
Health information and outcomes
Our services are delivered with professional care, but no health intervention can guarantee a particular outcome, and we do not promise specific results. The nature, evidence base and limits of our approach are described in our Disclaimer.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on general information published on this website rather than on individual professional advice given to you directly.
Links to other websites
Our website may link to third-party websites and resources. We provide these for convenience and do not control or endorse their content, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the “last updated” date shows when it was last revised.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
