Natural Fertility Treatment in Wimbledon
If you are trying to conceive, the question is rarely whether your body can — it is what is standing in the way. My work is to find and correct the metabolic, hormonal, and energetic factors that quietly undermine fertility, often long before they show up on a standard test.
Who is this for?
This treatment is for couples trying to conceive naturally, and for anyone whose investigations so far have come back as unexplained infertility. It is also suited to those with diminished ovarian reserve or a low AMH result, PCOS, irregular cycles, or recurrent early miscarriage — and to anyone who wants to optimise their fertility before moving on to assisted conception.
My approach
Fertility is downstream of cellular energy, endocrine regulation, and inflammation. Rather than treating each symptom in isolation, I look at how these systems interact — and correct the terrain that egg quality, ovulation, and implantation all depend on.
Egg quality and mitochondrial function
Egg quality depends heavily on mitochondrial energy production within the developing follicle. Where this energy supply is compromised — often by oxidative stress — egg quality and embryo development can suffer. This can be supported through targeted nutrition, acupuncture, and addressing the sources of oxidative stress directly.
Hormonal and metabolic terrain
I assess thyroid function, insulin sensitivity, and the HPA (stress) axis as part of every fertility case — correcting the dysregulation in these systems that can disrupt ovulation and implantation, even when each marker individually falls within a “normal” range.
The treatment toolkit
Treatment draws on acupuncture, herbal prescription, and nutritional therapy, with functional lab testing used where indicated to locate the specific dysregulation at play.
What to expect
Initial consultation
The initial consultation takes 60–90 minutes and covers your full history, a review of any prior test results, and a personalised treatment plan.
Treatment frequency
Acupuncture is typically given weekly or fortnightly, with the schedule adjusted to your cycle.
Timeline
Egg and sperm development takes around three months, so a preparation window of three to four months is usual before actively trying to conceive or starting assisted treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can acupuncture really improve fertility?
Acupuncture can support fertility by improving blood flow to the reproductive organs, regulating ovulation, and reducing the stress response — but it works best as part of a wider strategy. On its own, acupuncture rarely resolves the underlying metabolic or endocrine dysregulation driving a fertility issue, which is why it’s combined here with herbal medicine, nutrition, and functional testing where indicated.
What is a metabolic approach to fertility?
It means looking beyond a standard hormone panel to the systems that determine how those hormones behave — mitochondrial energy production, insulin sensitivity, thyroid function, and inflammation. These factors directly influence egg quality, ovulation, and implantation. Correcting them often resolves fertility issues that hormone-focused treatment alone does not.
Do you work alongside my IVF clinic or GP?
Yes. This treatment is designed to complement, not replace, conventional fertility care. I’m happy to liaise with your IVF clinic or GP where useful, and many patients use this alongside ongoing investigations or assisted conception.
How soon should I start treatment before trying to conceive?
Because egg and sperm development takes around three months, a preparation window of three to four months before actively trying to conceive — or before starting assisted treatment — is usual. That said, it’s never too late to begin; treatment is adapted to whatever timeline you’re working with.
Do you treat male fertility too?
Yes. Male factor contributes to around half of all fertility challenges and is often under-investigated. I assess and treat sperm quality through the same metabolic lens — energy production, oxidative stress, and endocrine regulation.
