IVF Support & Acupuncture in Wimbledon

IVF gives you the procedure. It rarely gives you the groundwork. My role is to prepare your body before a cycle and support it through each phase — so that when the science is done well, your biology is ready to respond.

Who is this for?

This treatment is for anyone preparing for a first IVF cycle, and for those who have had a failed or cancelled cycle and want to understand what might help next time. It’s also suited to poor responders, to those preparing for frozen embryo transfer (FET), and to anyone who wants to improve egg or endometrial quality before treatment begins.

My approach

This treatment is complementary to your fertility clinic, never competing with it. The focus is on the metabolic and circulatory groundwork that IVF protocols are not designed to address — the terrain your body brings to the cycle, not the cycle itself.

Metabolic preparation before stimulation

In the months before a cycle, I focus on optimising mitochondrial function, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation — the metabolic conditions that affect how well your body responds to stimulation and how your eggs and endometrium develop.

Acupuncture through the cycle

Acupuncture support continues through stimulation and around egg collection, and — where appropriate — before and after embryo transfer.

Between cycles

After a failed or cancelled cycle, treatment shifts to recovery and reassessment — giving us a chance to review what happened and address anything that may help before the next attempt.

What to expect

Initial consultation

The initial consultation covers your fertility history, any IVF cycles to date, and your current clinic’s planned timeline — so the treatment plan can be built around where you are in your IVF journey.

Treatment frequency

Frequency is aligned to your cycle phases — more regular in the preparation period, then timed around stimulation, egg collection, and transfer.

Timeline

Ideally, treatment begins two to three months before stimulation. If your cycle is closer than that, we’ll work with whatever time is available.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start acupuncture for IVF?

Ideally, two to three months before your stimulation phase begins. This gives time for the metabolic groundwork — addressing mitochondrial function, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation — to take effect before your cycle starts. If your cycle is already underway, treatment can still be adapted to support whatever stage you’re at.

Does acupuncture improve IVF success rates?

Evidence on acupuncture and IVF outcomes is mixed and varies by study design and timing. I don’t position acupuncture as something that, on its own, raises success rates by a specific margin. What it can do is support circulation, reduce stress, and — combined with the metabolic preparation work — address some of the underlying factors that influence how well your body responds to treatment.

Will this interfere with my IVF medication or clinic’s protocol?

No. This treatment is designed to run alongside your clinic’s protocol, not to replace or alter it. I don’t prescribe anything that would interact with your IVF medication, and I’m happy to coordinate timing with your clinic where helpful.

Can you help after a failed IVF cycle?

Yes. A failed or cancelled cycle is often the point where the metabolic and hormonal groundwork becomes most valuable — both for recovery and to address factors that may have affected the previous cycle before you go again.

Do you offer support for frozen embryo transfer (FET)?

Yes. FET preparation is one of the most common reasons patients come to me — focusing on endometrial receptivity and the metabolic terrain in the weeks leading up to transfer, with acupuncture support where appropriate around the transfer itself.
